Biometric finger print reader…with a difference.

Ievo has emerged in the last few months as one of the leading players in the biometric reader market. The reason for this is that innovative design has been used to overcome all the problems previously experienced in this field.

So what is different?

Most biometric finger print readers are plagued by issues caused by dirt and grease, cold weather and rain. Where Ievo have overcome this is by applying multi-spectral imaging technology that reads the fingerprint in a unique way never approached before. Using knowledge gained in the health-care sector the reader looks not just for the fingerprint on the surface of the skin but characteristics from under the skin layer itself. This approach actually means that a thin rubber glove can actually be worn and the read success is still 100%.

Integrates into Paxton access control.

The fact that many of the big access control manufactures are willing to integrate the Ievo reader into their products proves just how successful this product is and will become, notably Paxton have led the way and seized the chance to enhance their access control systems with the Ievo reader.

Not just for access control solutions.

The most interesting thing about biometric readers is the applications that this technology can be applied to and this is not just opening doors. A scheme in Wiltshire has been deployed by the police to identify under-age teenagers purchasing drink for instance and just think how it could be applied to only allow authorised people to operate and start machinery. However, the scope for replacing expensive unreliable insecure cards with a persons unique fingerprint is a highly appealing thought. Just think of the cost savings that a national or even multinational organization could save in a relatively short space of time..

Data protection.

The reader holds no data. All the fingerprint owners details are held within the access control database and the fingerprint itself is simply converted into data format alleviating any data protection issues.

Unique in the biometric market place.

Quite simply we have not seen anything like this product in the past , it has the potential to change the way access control is sold and as long as Ievo can integrate to more of the big players ..quite simply the sky is the limit!

Milestone VMS.

Milestone has become the first video management software platform to integrate the Bosch IP 200 series camera. Both products are ONVIF compliant and milestone are able to offer a plug and play solution.

Bosch IP 225 and 255 cameras.

The Bosch IP 200 series is a brilliant concept for small retail business and the fact that it offers  excellent compression and on board storage means no DVR is required. This makes it a highly appealing option for one or two camera solutions.

Cost saving on CCTV.

With the cuts beginning to bite deep in the UK economy the alliance between Milestone and Bosch has got many thinking how it could also fit into areas such as social care.

Interesting…very interesting.

So this collaboration between two of the giants in the IP camera market is certainly interesting and will only help to cement the standing that the Bosch IP 200 series camera already holds in this niche market place.

Security forum.

We are a group of security professionals who write about, sell products and publish information about real experiences from within the security industry. We invite manufactures, salesmen, specifiers and engineers to tell us what they really think about the way the industry can and will move forward in the future.

We hear its on its way….but when?

Pyronix /Castle are soon to launch their exploration into wireless when they release their New alarm panel called the Enforcer. What makes it different from other wireless intruder alarms and one of the key benefits the new panel boasts is Bi-directional wireless. This actually helps keep the number of wireless signals bouncing around the premises to a minimum and helps conserve sensor battery life.

32 way wireless intruder alarm panel.

The panel is a 32 way unit and has been released to specifically compete against Risco who have made this market place their own in recent years. Using euro mini programming makes this panel easy for the engineers and end-users alike. As standard it comes with built in PSU and battery back up. The data bell box is also wireless but can be powered locally if required and we also have 2 zones that can be hardwired should any existing door contacts need to be retained.

Wireless but not completely !

An Rs485 input allows the remote to be either hardwired or radio and the range of the radio signals, although always subject to survey is expected to be at least 50m from the panels. This grade 2 panel can of course be policed via the integrated digicom and will fit nicely into the domestic market place.

Future plans.

Future plans for the panel include eventual integration into the euro 46 platform to enable this panel to fit into industrial applications as well. Zero delay technology is the way forward when considering a wireless solution and the Enforcer is a well thought out panel that should offer a very stern challenge to its competitors.
