Paxton Net2 pro software

Paxton have launched an initiative to encourage installers to up-sell their redeveloped Net 2 pro software to end users. In this all new software package the Net 2 pro, a product that now retails at £385 +vat, has new features such building control and HR processes. This is in addition to an already feature rich package that includes the following.

Paxton have also ensured that they still provide a free version of software for those who do not wish to upgrade. This is called Net 2 Lite and is available for download only.

This software is ideal for sites that require total simplicity and and basic access control only.

So Paxton have set out their stall for this year. Up-sell software together with highly competitive, reliable access control equipment. Over the last 5 years there has been little doubt that Paxton Net2 is the leading access control company in the UK. looks like with some of their new offerings they a making a dent into some of the specialized software we see out there as there is little this product can’t now do.

IP CCTV the views of the security industry

An excellent article in July’s edition of PSI Magazine asks the question” what is the current state of IP CCTV as it stands in the CCTV market place today?” The opening statement of the article certainly confirms what many think. With input from respected professionals such as central station managers Colin Walters and Steve Kimber it asks how IP CCTV is integrating with the central stations and the quality of the monitoring as a result. The article also touches on HD SDI CCTV with great insight from Todd Rockoff and asks where this technology sits within the CCTV industry and where HD SDI CCTV will be focusing in the future. ONVIF and how it is playing an important role in ensuring IP CCTV does get its fair share of uptake is also covered well within the piece.

The whole article is fair and balanced and really does reflect how most CCTV professionals feel IP CCTV is developing within the security industry.

HDCCTV – another interesting Supplier?

Calsys Inc – a US based manufacturer – offers some interesting new products for the HD-CCTV market.

Currently, they do not have representation in the UK, although discussions are taking place with a few suitable partners.

Offering a range of products including:-

HDCCTV recorders – 4 & 8Ch, 720p and 1080p versions

HDCCTV cameras – CMOS Body and Minidome variants & CCD Body and Minidome variants

Calsys have been instrumental in developing and enhancing their own take on HDCCTV and we look forward to welcoming their products to the UK

 

360 Vision Predator gets Longer IR & White light

360 Vision Technology Predator has been very well received in the UK Security market.

With options including Dual IR, Thermal (both 320 and 640 pixel versions) and also their Patented Green Technology Dual IR and White Light unit, Predator really can offer true Night Vision CCTV capabilities.

Current IR can provide illumination to 100m and that is set to be increased to 150m. In addition, their Dual IR and White Light offers the same 100m IR but with a combined 70m full colour White Light LED array – this soon to be increased to 100m.

Unlike static IR installed separately, 360 Vision mix both wide and spot to provide even distribution of both IR and White Light to ensure that both long and short distances are covered and also to eliminate object ‘glare’ so commonly seen on similar PTZ camera units.

360 Vision are now offering an on-site, night time service whereby end users and installers can see exactly what they can expect on their site – along with a video clip of the recording. This is a free service from 360 Vision and could prove extremely useful in gaining exact images from site before orders are placed!
