Predator dome with a spot light.

We have heard that 360 vision technology are releasing a new predator camera into their range. We have seen the Predator camera before and it is a robust quality piece of kit.The predator comes in several different formats including IP, night vision with IR and of course thermal. But now something not seen before as we as we know, a CCTV camera with a spot light. Its actually called the White Light predator. What a great idea when you think of the deterrent value something like this can bring to a CCTV system is surprising that no one thought about this idea years ago!

So how does it work, well to be honest its so new we don’t know but we know it uses high powered led technology and this can either be manually switched on by a security guard or can be programmed to automatically to come on with alarm presets. So you will get a crystal clear night time image and deterrent that will deter criminals as they attempt to break in. No one in there right right mind will continue to perpetrate a crime while under the watch of a spot light especially as this spotlight will track there every move within the protected area.

So to any specifiers out there who need a camera that looks good, that performs brilliantly and offers unprecedented deterrent value. Keep your eyes open for the Predator complete with spotlight………… it certainly is an illuminating idea!

CCTV in recycling centres.

Where there is muck there is money or so the saying goes. Many would say not a truer word spoken! Recycling is now more popular than ever, with commodity prices rising and a more aware public about the importance of recycling, nothing that can be recycled is now thrown away.

However this can bring problems to recycling centres, copper is much sought after and often the yards used for recycling are open and difficult to protect. Many an operator has seen damage to his fleet and plant from thieves and vandals who seem to have no respect for the fact that the goods, once deposited on the site, belong to the owner. Its not a help yourself centre for anything you find!!!

Its no surprise then that CCTV is being deployed in more and more recycling centres to increase security and keep an eye on the whole operation. Robust camera solutions such as the 360 predator camera are ideal for such a scenario.

It does not stop there however. CCTV can be used now to prevent fire as well as theft. A recent blaze at a recycling centre in Hertfordshire highlighted how rotting waste can heat up to high temperature deep inside the pile of rubbish. When conditions a right this waste can self combust causing untold damage to plant and machinery sometimes totalling hundreds of thousands of pounds.

So how can CCTV help here? Well with the new Thermal cameras out there hotspots can be seen and dealt with long before they become dangerous, although the camera can be expensive, prevention can save the operator vast amounts of money , even their business.

So CCTV and recycling centres seem very nicely matched, where there is muck there is money but where there are CCTV cameras there are definitely some big savings to be made.

Many people have become dissatisfied with their CCTV service provider especially over the last two years, cut backs within security organisations has meant quite simply they cannot physically provide the sort of service that companies have come to expect.

We look at what you should look for in a CCTV service agreement and some of the golden rules you should follow. click here

CCTV exhibitions UK.

Hundreds of companies, queuing up with trucks to unload, all fighting for grid position 1 so they can get the head start with their pallet trolleys.

CCTV F1

Inside the exhibition halls, idiot companies (who are at the front of said grid position/pallet race) block aisles so that the guys behind spend 15 minutes extra rerouting their already precariousy piled high trolleys

Oh, and jobs worth ‘event staff’ – ‘no, you can’t go there, you cant park here, that will be removed unless you move it’

And when your stand is RIGHT next door to one of the numerous doors leading to perfectly placed back entrances with ample room for parking a truck and reducing unloading time by an hour do you think they’ll let you…. No way, road is closed off to vehicles.

Do event organisers have a sick sense of humour? Do they delight in watching a show materialise before their eyes in at least triple the time it needs to?

What THEY don’t know is that security companies weigh lots of things up before deciding to return……and if visitor count is down then logistics of setting up and breaking down scores pretty high in the minds of a disgruntled company when deciding whether to return or not!

CCTV shows

So, event organisers, take note, it’s all about the logistics…..
